How to Climb 5.12

Are you looking to climb your first 5.12? This is the plan for you! Designed with the 5.11 climber in mind who’s wanting to climb their first 5.12 as well as the climber who’s trying to climb 5.12 more consistently. This is a follow along training plan incorporating daily exercises on and off the climbing wall to target your power, endurance, strength and projecting skills. The plan follows a daily agenda for 4 weeks, each day outlined for you with explanations of the exercises on how and why to do them.   • You have climbed 5.11 to 5.11+

  • You have at least 6 months of climbing experience

How To Climb V5

Ready to climb your first V5? This is the plan for you if you have successfully climb V3-V4 inside or outside. The plan includes daily exercises for you to complete while climbing in the gym or outside. Training days include themes of increasing power and strength and generalized endurance. The final week of this plan is dedicated to projecting a single V5 and provides projecting tips for each day including mental training practices like visualization and breathing techniques to help improve your performance. The plan is easy to follow and provides outlines of how to do each exercise.

 Mindful Routes offers one on one coaching programs that are centered around any and all goals you may have in your rock climbing career. We also have pre-written plans you can download and follow your self. Are you looking to reach a new grade? Develop stronger fingers? Breakthrough a plateau? Are you not sure whats holding you back? Wondering how to climb 5.12? 5.13? 5.14? Do you want to climb your first V3/5/6/7/8/9/10?

Mindful Routes Coaching plans can address all of this plus more. We start all coaching plans with an assessment period of the climber. Looking at your general strengths and weaknesses and assessing where your biggest room for improvement could be in regards to your goals. We then incorporate specific strength training, power training and endurance training in a strategic plan for you to follow.

All coaching programs are available at a month long course. We work with you remotely via video chatting, emailing, and phone calls. Different pricing allows for more or less communication depending on what you are looking for.

What does a one month long coaching plan include:

  • Assessment of your technique, strengths, weaknesses and planning of your goals.

  • Week by Week training plans written in detail for you to follow.

  • Strength exercises.

  • Power and Endurance Exercises adjusted specifically for your goal.

  • Access to a Mindful Routes coach to reflect and talk about the process. Including providing weekly feedback, weekly training plans, and motivation.

  • Availability to coaching plans, reading, videos and research to supplement your training.
